Potty Training

I am thinking of potty training Reese. She has made a pretty good run of it today but I am not holding my breath. This morning she unrolled all the toilet paper and then rolled it back up again! :)

Potty training is an exhausting thing (especially for the mom!) Being the stellar mom that I am, I let her run around naked all day. And yes, that did include some outside time. Just pray that the neighbors don't call DCFS before this is all over with. She was having a snack and...

Wish us luck!!

Wear your seat belt

I hope you can get to this. I am a firm believer in seat belts.

Miller Park Zoo

Ari and her three kids and Becky and two of her kids went with us to Miller Park Zoo. We were quite a train!!

The petting zoo

The kids got to pet a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach!

Holding the millipede

Our whole crew. We also had Hayley, who is the granddaughter of Jon's coworker! It was a lot of kids but everyone did great!

We got McDonald's to avoid hypoglycemic meltdowns and had a picnic. Then we hit the splash park. Jack was getting brave.

I guess Reese doesn't understand corn cob holders

Walking in Parklands

Deer tracks! (Uncle Brian would be so proud!)

Reese was a trooper! Her little legs just kept going! Unless there was something interesting to look at, of course.

Stopping to eat lunch

We found a dragon fly that had just molted. The skin is beside it and then in my hand in the next picture. I had never seen that before!!

We had so much fun exploring. My kids kept taking pic of EVERYTHING so this is just a few. It started raining at the very end and we were very glad to see the van. Reese had to be carried for a little way because she said, "My shoes are tired." It was a great way to spend the morning!!

Living with a 5 year old

Elle helped me wash woodwork one day. Our bathroom is all wood and I didn't notice Elle couldn't quite reach the back of the trim. :)
Good memories. By the way, I didn't wipe the other half yet. It makes me smile every time I see it!

We were talking one day and she said, "Mom, your teeth look just like that lady on Meals on Wheels!" After much discussion about which lady it was, I mistakenly asked her why they looked like hers. She replied, "They are golden!"

She also was playing a trivia game with me. Here are some of the funny responses I got.

1) This little piggy went to market...This little piggy...

(Elle) ...went to park it!!

2)Your brother needs a haircut. Who should he see? A) sushi chef B) florist C) barber D) banker

(Elle) Ari!! (our friend that cuts our hair)

3)Baby cows are called...

(Elle) Cabs!

All 5 y/o would think this ? was fun!

What would you do if you had 2 donuts and your little sister had none? A) eat them where she can't see you. B) Share one with her. C) Say, "Too bad, you don't have any donuts." D) Lick the frosting off one and then give it to her.

She picked C. :)

Sad but true

As I looked back at my last blog, it said February. How sad! Another blogger said she was taking a fast from the internet for 40 days. I wish that I could say that was my excuse but I don't have one nearly that spiritual. I am just a slacker. Yet that gives you a glimpse at how much time I have had to sit at my computer and type. Especially with glorious Spring in the air. Can't you just hear the Hallelujah chorus every time you open the door. Life is good when I can go out and not be cold.

We have been enjoying Spring as much as possible. A few pics to catch you up.

Elle's birthday party at the park

I am having a terrible time getting the pictures to go where I want them. Hopefully I will get some help soon and then I will post about our trip to Florida!
